Connecting rods reconditioning
Connecting rod is very expensive engine part and it is highly cost-effective to make reconditioning of connecting rods. Reneko has a possibilities and special knowledge for connecting rods reconditioning.Connecting rod reconditioning basic procedure includes:
- Inspection and measurements – before.
- Connecting rod straightness checking.
- Serrated profile NDT – Magnet Testing.
- Serrated profile measurement and recording.
- Distance between centers measurement and recording.- Connecting rod serrated profile treatment on special CNC equipment for wear and ovality compensation.
- Blue test before assembling.
- Connecting rod tightening with normative torque.
- Connecting rod big-end bore machining to original dimension.
- Final measurements and paperwork.
In case of cracks discovered by MPI in serration profile, we have another procedure for these connecting rods reconditioning:
We are cutting off serration profile, than we are making cladding as per strict WPS, immediately making stress relief heat treatment in oven, cutting new serration profile and, finally, making machining of big-end bore to original size.
