Description of work
Wärtsila 32 Mahle pistons, 6 pcs were found in NO-GO condition due to pitting wear on contact surfaces on crown and skirt.
Plating on contact surface of piston skirt was removed, crack detection was done, contact surface was re-plated and re-machined to original size. Piston crown contact surfaces were reconditioned to original size. Hidden gap was adjusted, measured and recorded.
