Description of work

Reneko picked-up the blade from Customer’s NL stock for repair purpose by own transport.
The problem was a crack in Zone A, length 150 mm and depth 30 mm.

Any welding repairs in Zone A are not generally permitted unless a special approval from Class Headoffice Material Dpt.
Reneko submitted a procedure to DNV and finally got a permission to perform welding repair of the defect.
The procedure included full oven preheating and high-temperature Post-Weld Heat Treatment of the blade.
The heat treatment job was rather specific because the weight of the blade is 5270 kg and the height is abt 3 meeters!

Repair was performed under direct Class supervision, by following all the requirements of DNV HO reviewed prodecure.
All necessary after-repair tests were done, in accordance with the requirements.

After sale

The blade was delivered back to Customer’s NL stock, by Reneko transport.
No known problems with the performed service since that.
