Description of work

Turbochargher ABB VTR-354 inlet gas casing was not possible to further use due to cracking in place of blocks grooves (typical wear mechanism). As a repair solution the cast-iron casing was subjected to welding repair directly in oven at very high temperature, by using certified nodular cast iron consumables with equivalent tensile strength. Such high temperatures welding method results by a homogenous and stress free welding joint.
Grooves were remachined during the post-machining as well as all contact surfaces were refreshed.
